Many cultural phenomena have their roots in habits, religion and mysticism. They often only possess regional character, but over the course of time get imitated, alienated or fashionable. The series «Cultural Phenomena» tries to uncover these backgrounds. mehr
«David and Red in England»
The Englishman David lives in Germany. He has a somehow unusual friend – Red, a sock! Red speaks little, but is all the more bold and curious. When David visits his friends in England, Red unhesitatingly hides himself inside David's suitcase. During the trip he provides a lot of diversion. «Dossier Birds of Prey»
Part 1: The «Greifvogelpark» in Buchs SG houses eagles, falcons, owls and vultures. A peregrine falcon is training, trying to catch its prey. Part 2: A female and a male kestrel are rearing their brood, hard work! Part 3: Because food is scarce many birds of prey spend the winter in the south. Part 4: The eagle has symbolized power and wisdom since ancient times, and continues to do so today. mehr
«Dossier Heart»
The heart beats about three billion times during a lifetime, pumping 420 million litres of blood around our body. This corresponds to the water consumption in the city of Zürich in four days. A considerable activity for an organ of the size of a fist. But the heart is not only responsible for the blood circulation: Beating or aching, we know it in the context of love. mehr

«God is dead», claimed the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche and Karl Marx, the founder of communism, was equally critical: «Religion is the opium of the people.» For many years, religion was out: its time seemed to be over. «Flirt English»
On a night out in Cologne, two German boys – Alex and Can – get to know Julie and Nina, two British girls on a visit. The four hit it off immediately. Only – the girls don't speak any German, and the boys' English isn't very solid, either. But this only adds to their interest in each other. «Mountains of Switzerland: The Rigi»
The Rigi towers majestically over the Lakes of Lucerne, Zug and Lauerz. For millions of years, tectonic forces from the south have been pushing the molasse layers of the Rigi higher and higher. Breathtaking views from its peaks of sunrises and seas of fog, have attracted tourists for centuries.
